The Professional Inquiry Project provides Intern Teachers with an opportunity to deepen their understanding, knowledge, and skills in specific aspects of teaching and learning. It is designed to enhance the internship experience while remaining contextually relevant to the classroom environment. Professional inquiry may take many forms, including independent research, collaboration with Teacher Mentors on professional development initiatives, or engagement in school-based inquiries related to curriculum and pedagogy.
For my inquiry, I am exploring the question: βIn what ways can trauma-informed journaling practices support Grade 9 students in developing voice and authenticity in their writing?β This focus aims to investigate how reflective and supportive journaling strategies can foster student expression, confidence, and emotional safety in the English classroom.
